Children's Ministries
Developing children to be life-long disciples who know, love, follow and serve Jesus.
Children's Ministries
The faith of a child who is raised in a Christian home and a church family, develops over time and parallels the individual development of the child. A child’s faith is influenced by people, places and a variety of experiences. Most often the greatest influence of a child’s faith is their family. However, the church as an individual’s faith family, is also a very important influence. Spiritual formation happens in a kids church classroom and while attending worship as a family. We believe as children find belonging in their faith community they learn to follow and love Jesus through Christ centered worship, joy filled community, and love compelled service.
We recognize that raising children is a challenge in and of itself and raising a child of faith is an even greater challenge. For this reason, The Lighthouse partners with parents to love, encourage, and light the way, as children grow and flourish in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
What to Expect
Each week, children are welcomed into a safe, nurturing, fun and engaging environment by a team of trained caregivers and volunteers. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted and receive instruction on checking your child into our age-specific programs. In the classroom children will explore developmentally appropriate teaching and activities, worship and free play.
Family Sunday Services the First Sunday of Each Month
As a multi-generational congregation we place a high value on providing space for our families to worship together as well as give children chances to participate in worship with the larger body. In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said to his disciples, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
As parents, 1st Sunday is a time that our children get to watch us live out our faith. We get to model for them what it means to worship, pray, confess, learn from God’s Word, and take communion. These practices form us spiritually and draw us close to Jesus as we set aside one hour a week to dedicate our hearts and minds to worshiping the Lord in community with our church family and it is important that our children feel a part of our church family. On the 1st Sunday of each month we invite all children ages 6 and up to attend church with their families.

We build a strong, gospel-centered foundation while having fun. Our curriculum, Wonder Ink, centers around 4 core values: God made me with a purpose for a purpose, Jesus loves me, the Holy Spirit leads me, and I am a Child of God. We explore these truths through interactive games, activities, lesson time, discussion groups, prayer and worship.
