Compassion Child Sponsorship
For the past two years, WCPC has partnered with Compassion International to build a Compassion Center at our Honduran church plant, Amor Viviente. We’re thrilled to announce that construction is now complete, opening doors for children in the surrounding community. The Compassion Center serves children by offering:
- Spiritual Growth – Children at the Compassion Center have the chance to learn about the gospel and Jesus.
- Christian Training – They receive regular Christian training.
- Education – Access to quality education and educational support.
- Healthcare and Nutrition – Essential healthcare, hygiene training, and supplementary food if needed.
- Safe Environment – A caring and secure Christian environment for self-confidence and social skills.
- Personalized Support – Each child receives personal attention, guidance, and love.
Up to this point, the Compassion Center has been directly funded via your giving through the Global Mission budget. Now we’re inviting you to partner with us by sponsoring a specific child for $43 each month. As a sponsor, you’ll receive photos and letters from your sponsored child, along with updates and prayer requests.
FAQ
Compassion International is a Christian child development organization dedicated to releasing children from poverty. Their ministry to children is twofold: They work through local churches to provide child development programs to deliver children from economic, physical, social and spiritual poverty, enabling them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. And they speak out for children in poverty – informing, motivating and equipping others to become advocates for children.
Yes. Compassion International, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
No. While all of the children are affiliated with the church Amor Viviente which was planted by WCPC, you must sponsor children directly through the Compassion International program.
Yes. Each child has only one sponsor, which is why the sponsor’s prayers, letters and support mean so much to a child. We believe that the relationship that develops between sponsors and children is instrumental in a child’s growth and development. In addition, this one-to-one relationship provides children with the message that they matter, that they are valuable and that someone outside of their family cares about them and their future.
No. Children are welcome to participate in a Compassion-assisted child development center regardless of their faith. Compassion’s program, however, is unapologetically Christian and every Compassion center is connected to a Christian church or ministry. We want children to have the opportunity to see living faith in action, hear the gospel, and be discipled in the ways of Christ. But neither they nor their families are under any compulsion to become Christians.
Definitely! WCPC will be planning group sponsor trips in the near future and you may also plan your own unique custom visit.
