Children's Ministries
Developing children to be life-long disciples who know, love, follow, and serve Jesus.
Children's Ministries
At WCPC, we are committed to nurturing the faith of children, helping them become life-long disciples of Jesus. A child’s faith grows over time, influenced by family, church, and a variety of life experiences. While parents and family play the most significant role, we believe the church, as an extended faith family, is also crucial. Through Christ Centered Worship, Joy Filled Community, and Love Compelled Service, we help children develop a vibrant relationship with Jesus.
Spiritual formation happens both in the kids’ church classroom and while worshipping as a family. We believe that as children find belonging in their faith community, they learn to follow and love Jesus more deeply. At The Lighthouse, we partner with parents to support, encourage, and light the way, as children grow and flourish in their relationship with Jesus.
What to Expect
Each week, your child will be welcomed into a safe, nurturing, fun, and engaging environment by a team of trained caregivers and volunteers. From the moment you arrive, you’ll receive a warm welcome and guidance on checking your child into our age-specific programs. During class, children will experience age-appropriate teaching, worship, and activities that reflect our core values of Christ-Centered Worship, encouraging them to encounter Jesus personally, while being part of a Joy-Filled Community where they feel loved and accepted.
Family Sunday Services the First Sunday of Each Month
As a multi-generational congregation, we place a high value on creating opportunities for families to worship together. On the first Sunday of each month, we invite children ages 6 and up to join their families in the main worship service. Jesus welcomed children into His presence, saying, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children” (Matthew 19:14).
Family Sundays allow children to see their parents modeling faith—worshiping, praying, confessing, learning from God’s Word, and taking communion. These moments of Christ Centered Worship and communal prayer form us spiritually, and we believe it’s important that children feel part of the larger church family. Through this shared experience, they see faith lived out in a tangible way.

Nursery & Preschool
We focus on building a strong, gospel-centered foundation for our youngest children. In a nurturing environment, we introduce the truth of Scripture through circle time lessons, singing, dancing, and fun activities. Our goal is to plant seeds of faith that will grow as children experience the joy of God’s love and community from the earliest age.

Elementary
For our elementary-aged children, we continue to build a strong, gospel-centered foundation through our curriculum, Wonder Ink, which highlights four core truths: God made me with a purpose for a purpose, Jesus loves me, the Holy Spirit leads me, and I am a child of God. We explore these truths through interactive games, lesson time, worship, discussion groups, and prayer. Our aim is to engage children in Christ Centered Worship, teach them the joy of belonging to a Joy Filled Community, and inspire them to live out their faith through Love Compelled Service to others.
